Our season’s finale concert will open with Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kije Suite constructed out of themes used in the film score of the same name. The concerto item is something of a novelty, the harp concerto by Mozart’s contemporary Dittersdorf. Then our final flourish of the year will be a tour de force, the large-scale Symphony No.2 (London) by Vaughan Williams.
